Universal Horror Unleashed (Las Vegas) Review

Universal Horror Unleashed is a new attraction in Las Vegas, and it features four haunted house attractions inside the one building. The attraction also features scare zones, food options, and character experiences. This place is a dream come true for anyone like me. I love haunted house attractions, and I love themed experiences such as theme parks. What better idea than what is essentially like a “theme park” for haunted houses, where everything is immersive from the moment you walk in the door?

Firstly, I absolutely love the layout of this experience. I love how the main area has interactive character experiences, a live show, scare zones, along with the food options. The theming of these areas is really well done, and I loved how everything is so immersive. This is different than going to a horror event in a theme park. This place was built specifically with horror, haunted house attractions, and movie fans in mind and crafted with meticulous detail.

The haunts are phenomenal. The set designs are well done (what else would you expect from a Universal Studios attraction?) and the makeup/costuming is great. The scares are well-timed as well. I got the unlimited pass, and I would say that the upgrade was definitely worth it. I did three of the attractions four times, and Texas Chainsaw twice. I would have done Texas Chainsaw again, but the line got very long, and even though it was really good, it was not my favorite of the four.

Here are the haunts ranked and some of my favorite things about them:

Number 4- Texas Chainsaw: I love the beginning of this attraction and the entry way to the house. I like how this attraction feels like you are walking through the house.

Number 3- Scarecrow: The Reaping: I loved the scene with the corn and the large screen behind it. This scene also has a really cool fog effect/secret door!

Number 2- The Exorcist: Believer: This attraction is amazing and very close to my number one pick. This attractions has amazing costuming, makeup, and actors. The sets, effects, and lighting are wonderful as well. I love how this attraction pays tribute to both the original film and reboot.

Number 1- Universal Monsters: The sets here are amazing. The detail in every scene from the queue line to the very last scene is incredible, and I love how this has a wide range of themes connecting back to the overall theme of Universal Monsters.

Overall, I had a wonderful time at Universal Horror Unleashed. I loved interacting with the characters in between the haunts and even got to see M3gan perform before meeting her! I would highly recommend this attraction if you are near Vegas, and if you are not near Vegas and are a haunted house fan, be sure to plan a trip to see this incredible attraction!
