Nightmare Dungeon 2021 Review

Nightmare Dungeon is the first show we attended not only in Greenville, but our first show for the Halloween Season and it did not disappoint.

This is our second time at Nightmare Dungeon after attending their valentine show earlier this year.

Nightmare Dungeon delivers a really incredible show, and it is unlike any other haunt in the Greenville area, or even the Southeast. Something that this show prides itself in is it's atmosphere. Unlike other haunts, this show uses no animatronics at all, something that owner Scott Sexton prides himself in.

From the moment you pull into the parking lot, you are greeted with a really amazing atmosphere and creepy ambiance. The house that the show is in just looks really cool, before you even go inside. Once entering the show, the design and work done to the house is very well put together. The team at Nightmare Dungeon has taken an old house and turned it into a maze of sorts, with unpredictable twists and turns... and like I stated earlier, there are no animatronics. This show takes its time to build a creepy atmosphere and takes risks, offering a very unique experience. It has the feel of an old school haunted house, but is more gutsy. It doesn't rely on a ton of jump scares or loud noises, but prides itself on taking details in its elaborate designs.

Each room is creepy, yes, but as someone who has seen a lot of haunted attractions, I must say the work that Scott does here is also artistic.

Not only is the atmosphere and set design great- the cast is the icing on the cake. The cast takes the atmosphere and brings it to life. They are interactive, passionate, and talented.

If brave enough, I also highly recommend doing the hands-on experience. It adds another layer of immersion and interaction with characters.

All in all, I highly recommend Nightmare Dungeon. It is quite a breath of fresh air for haunt fans, and provides a very special experience.

10/10 Stars
