Paranoia Haunted House: Holiday of Horror 2020 Review

Paranoia always puts on a great show and Holiday of Horror is no exception. Although the attractions had not changed much since visiting in October, this felt like an encore of these two amazing shows, with a little bit of a Holiday twist.

Unlike past years at this Holiday event, Paranoia had guests go through the two separate attractions. Usually, they are linked to create one massive attraction. This was a little disappointing because I love seeing them back to back, but because of these two shows being drastically different themes and because of the layout of the shows, I understand why they did this.

If they linked both shows together, you would have to go through the second show backwards, which would lose its effect.

Like I posted in the 2020 Attraction review of this haunt, both shows this year are amazing- the best shows Paranoia has ever put on- with a major expansion to the building as well.

The Holiday event this year was the same layout for both attractions, with a small change in the beginning of Quarantine Unleashed. They added a very foggy maze like candy cane area, which I loved and felt was a much better use of that empty space.

Christmas lights were added throughout and actors all had Christmas outfits on.

The second show, Cursed, worked extremely well with the Holiday themed, since its like walking through a cabin in the woods. There, we found killer elves and a very creepy Santa Claus.

During haunt season, this actor played an old grandma character, I believe. This was a very memorable actor in this show- great work from this particular cast member, as well as the rest of the cast as well.

Paranoia does a great job with theming every year, and as always, the effects and casting is top notch.

I do wish the paths were changed a little bit more from the Halloween season but this event was so close to the end of haunt season that there wasn't too much they could get done... mainly just adding Christmas decorations to their shows and changing costumes.

The photo booth/midway area was awesome afterwards and possibly my favorite part of this event! I loved meeting the Grinch and Krampus... also, free hot chocolate!

9/10 Stars
