This past weekend, we went to both the classic 13 Stories Haunted House, as well as The Village, a new outdoor show presented by them.
Starting with 13 Stories Haunted House, they have really outdone themselves this year. A lot has been added to their show and there were plenty more twists and turns. While in past years, there were some spaces of the path that were a little wide, this year, everything seemed to have more twists and turns. This made for a longer, and more unpredictable experience and I really enjoyed it. The show here was really fun this year. The new sets were great and the theming was well done. Transition between scenes were seamless and it made this a really enjoyable and long haunt. The show took almost 30 minutes to go through and did not have any dull moments, so you definitely get your money's worth here! They also have an add-on zombie kill experience. This path has changed dramatically from years past and is a lot of fun! I highly recommend doing that as well.
The Village is about 20mins down the road from 13 Stories and is co-presented with the Georgia Renaissance Festival. This is their first year in operation and I am definitely impressed with what they did here. This haunted attraction was a little more mild than 13 Stories as far as being "Scary" but made for a unique and refreshing experience. While 13 Stories offers a more intense attraction, this show just put me in the Halloween spirit and I loved it. There are a lot of really cool scenes to go through at The Village. Some of my favorites included the cult scene, the maze (With a slide at the end!) and the pirate ship. This was a really fun attraction to walk through. It felt like I was walking through an actual village and interacting with its residents, giving it a unique vibe that I have not seen at any other outdoor haunted attractions.
-The actors at both shows this year were great and both attractions have a wide variety of theming- there's a little bit of everything. If you are looking for an indoor walk-through haunt, a very unique outdoor show, or even just a fun night out- 13 Stories has something to offer.
I highly recommend both 13 Stories locations... if you can go to one, do not pass on the opportunity. If you can go to both, I would recommend that even more, as both shows are very well done and uniquely their own.
